KZN Super GT heads to Dezzi Raceway

The KZN Road Racing Championship takes place on Saturday, July 4, hosted at Dezzi Raceway in Port Shepstone, with gates opening at 07:00.

MOTORSPORT fans are in for a thrilling day of action when Round 4 of the KZN Road Racing Championship takes place on Saturday, July 4.

Hosted at Dezzi Raceway in Port Shepstone, the meeting promises a packed programme featuring some of SA’s top drivers and riders – many of whom are from Durban, Pinetown, Upper Highway and North of Durban – competing across a variety of car and motorcycle classes.

Gates open at 07:00 with spectator tickets priced at R100 for adults and R50 for children and pensioners.

Round 4 of the KZN Road Racing Club’s championship is happening on Saturday with an action-packed programme.

A major highlight of the day will be the Super GT class sponsored by MOTUL, featuring an impressive grid of machinery including thunderous V8 Cobras, an Alfa-powered Ultima, Formula M race cars and several Lotus 7s.

Fans can expect close racing and spectacular action throughout the field.

In the fiercely contested Class B category, keep an eye on experienced competitors Mike McLoughlin, Steve Clark and Richard van Heerden as they battle for championship honours.

In the mix the former underdogs, Rob Mordaunt, Peter Blofield and Manfred Schroeder, are now running at the sharp end of the field.

Meanwhile, Bev van Heerden will be challenging the front-runners in Class C and continue proving she can match it with the best.

Additional racing categories include Modified Saloons, Historics and Time Attack cars, while motorcycle enthusiasts can enjoy action from the 150cc/Super Production, Sub 500/Formula Extreme and Motard classes.

The day’s racing concludes with an exciting one-hour endurance race, providing a fitting finale to what promises to be a fantastic day of motorsport entertainment.
