EDITOR – I realise gallons of ink and bushels of newsprint has been wasted on the saga of the orange bags.
Some time ago you published an e-mail address to contact should one require these. I duly noted this as I have struggled for years to receive a supply.
Once again the non-delivery reared its ugly head and gleefully I wrote to this e-mail address asking when my area would be honoured with a delivery of said bags.
I received a response requesting my address so that delivery could be effected. This I eagerly supplied. I waited more than a week, with no sight of these elusive bags, so wrote again asking when my request would be expedited. In the interim. I spoke to Kerry at your office, who did her utmost to locate a source of these bags, which are so exclusive they make Prada bags look commonplace.
Despite her efforts nothing further happened until this morning when I received a response to my follow-up e-mail:
“Good morning, I would like to inform you that due to the manufacturing of the new orange bag we had a delay with the distribution of orange bags as we had not have stock of the improved bag. However, delivery is underway for the residences that have not received the bags as yet and will forward your contact details and address to the relevant contractors to deliver orange bags. Can I have you residential address so that I can forward to the contractors to deliver to you? Should you require an additional pack of the bags, you can come through to 188 Argyle Road/Sandile Thusi Road, Morningside.
We apologise for the inconveniences.

To suggest we collect we collect them ourselves is adding insult to injury. Hope they have an adequate supply when Durban hosts the Commonwealth Games.
