Quality service that saved me money

Mr Receptionist, thank you for going the extra mile.

EDITOR – I bought a gas heater at one distributor and an empty gas bottle and connecting pipes for it at another last week. On Saturday, 7 May, I drove around New Germany looking for a gas filling outlet, but couldn’t find parking at the one I did find. I then ventured down Old Main Road looking for another outlet and saw Afrox.

I asked the receptionist if they could fill the domestic use bottle and what the cost of that would be, and I told him that I had paid R800 for the bottle and pipes. He told me that for that price Afrox could give me a full one and at R300 less than what I had paid initially.

Luckily, I had the new gas heater in my car and he kindly left reception and took a look at it and showed me that the pipes were included in the package. So I took the empty bottle and pipes back and got my money back. I then went back to Afrox and for R300 less, I left with a full bottle and had the refund money for the pipes as a ‘bonus’.

Mr Receptionist, thank you for going the extra mile – unfortunately I neglected to take down your name, but I am sure you will know who I am.
