THE letter from JJ Stanley refers.
I am not sure whether JJ Stanley entered a “pin number” when they received their SASSA cards. If they did, I would like to point out that the SASSA card can be used as debit card and I have had no trouble having it accepted anywhere.
The only problem is that one has to keep a record of what one spends and work out the balance for oneself. You can get a balance and draw cash from Pick n Pay and Checkers. All these transactions are free.
You can also use an ATM, but you will be charged normal bank charges.
The card gets loaded with the pension on the 1st of every month and there is no need to go to a “pay out point”. If they did not, they can go back to the offices and register one for each card.
Hope this helps the Stanleys.
