
UNFORTUNATELY I have to agree with the writer of “Disappointing Service at UKZN” that the service we received from staff at UKZN during registration was of a poor standard.
Our daughter was accepted to study at Rhodes University in Grahamstown this year.
My husband and I accompanied her for registration.
It took us 20 minutes to register her and receive her student card.
The staff were so helpful from the time we set foot inside their doors to directing us to correct counters for assistance.
It was so unfortunate when she became homesick and had to return to Durban.
It took us two whole weeks to get her registered here at UKZN thereafter.
The printing of the student card took a separate day.
I don’t understand why the service standard levels are so low here at UKZN when most other universities are so efficient.
Even their websites work like clock-work, no struggle.
I really do think that someone needs to note all the negative publicity and remedy the situation.
