Don’t use toxins to kill

"Putting toxins into your environment is never a good idea."

IN response to your correspondent’s letter regarding rat poison in last week’s newspaper titled: Rat poison also kills predator birds, it must be noted that Racumin is a warfarin and is very dangerous.

It also kills secondary victims, including dogs and cats as well as the owls and other wild predators such as mongooses and genets. It is a very cruel method of controlling unwanted species.

We found that Brown house snakes do a very good job. We also use humane traps when necessary and release the mammals unharmed. Putting toxins into your environment is never a good idea.
