Kearsney triumphs at weekend games
Kearsney Colleged raked in winning results in soccer, tennis and golf.
KEARSNEY College held a successful sports weekend, winning all the events.
In their first soccer fixture of the season, visitors Kearsney went up 2-0 in the first half against St Charles, before their opposition came back to equalise before the break.
Some attacking play in the second half saw the visitors score three goals late in the half to win the game 5-2.
Kearsney’s Trystan Tanner stymied the opposition up front while Tyler Smith put in a lot of effort to keep the opposition at bay in mid-field .
In tennis, Kearsney’s 1st team had an excellent win against Glenwood, beating them seven matches to two.
Kearsney’s Greg Royston came second in the KZN closed golf championships at Victoria Country Club in Pietermaritzburg at the weekend, with a best round of 66. With his numerous successes this year, he has earned a selection to the KZN men’s golf side. Kearsney old boy Martin Rohwer, who matriculated in 2011, finished third.
