Thousands turn up for annual PDAC run

More than 1400 runners entered the Pinetown and Districts' Athletics Club's annual 25km race.

MORE than a thousand runners took to the streets for the 40th running of the Pinetown and Districts Athletics Club’s (PDAC) 25 kilometre race from Waterfall Shopping Centre to Lahee Park in Pinetown on Sunday, 25 January, in support of the Robin Hood Foundation.

The athletics club set up collection boxes at the three registration points and at the finish of the race so participants and spectators could make financial contributions to the Robin Hood Foundation, whose objective is to help those who cannot help themselves as a result of poverty, age or disability.

“It is such a privilege to be able to run and participate in the amazing races which KwaZulu-Natal has to offer, and this is our way of supporting those less fortunate than us,” said Lise Muchna, PDAC chairperson.

PDAC thanked their sponsors for their contribution to this year’s race, which attracted more than 1 400 runners and walkers.

In 2015 the Robin Hood Foundation celebrates its 10th anniversary. To find out more about the foundation’s varied projects, contact Kim Griffith Jones at robinhoodfund@telkomsa.net or phone 076 612 9060.
