Gillitts biker wins Bush to Bush Challenge

A Gillitts resident celebrated his recent racing victory.

TWENTY-one-year-old Gillitts resident, Michael Pentecost, recently competed against 300 bikers and won the Stella Bush to Bush Challenge. Pentecost, who has been riding since he was three and competing from the age of 11, is a multiple junior and national off-road 250cc champ.

Driven by his passion for off-road and enduro racing, Pentecost, who draws his inspiration from his father, said, “There were no requirements to enter this competition, you just enter at your own risk. These races take a lot, mentally and physically, as the races are about six hours long and extremely hard on the body. I spend most of my time in the gym or on my bike preparing for these events. My future goals are to inspire others and maintain what I have become, and always give glory to the Lord as I am fortunate to be where I am today.”

His advice to those interested in participating in the sport is, “If it is your passion, then go out and ride.” He thanked Kargo Yamaha and all his supporters and sponsors for contributing to his success.
