THE Hillcrest Villagers U 16s recorded an impressive 31-12 win over Collegians in the recent tournament held at Varsity College. This is the second consecutive win for the U 16s, which leaves them leading the log at the moment.
The try scorers were Jordan Taylor (two), Taine Redgard, Zoltan Holtzhausen and Linamkele ‘Omo’ Mcwabeni, who also added six extra points with his conversions.
It was a hard, tough game of rugby which the boys played with passion and skill.
The hard work and tough training paid off for 10 of the U16 boys, who have been chosen to represent KZN in the upcoming inter-provincial tournament to be held in Johannesburg in October: Ridley Breytenbach, Rory Buchan, Myles Buthelezi, Angelo Dos Reis, Zoltan Holtzhausen, Keegan Jansen van Rensburg, Linamkele Mcwabeni, Taine Redgard, Connor Steedman and Jordan Taylor. The club congratulated the players for earning their black and white.
