From 2-10 to ‘Top 10’ champs
WBHS's U14 A waterpolo team turned around a (first match of the season) 2-10 crushing defeat by Hilton College to eventually win the competition and be crowned KZN Champions for 2017.
THE KZN schools U14 ‘Top 10′ water polo competition was held at Westville Boys’ High School this past weekend where the top 10 schools in KZN battled it out to see who would be crowned the No1 water polo side in the province.
Going into the final, Westville Boys’ High was always going to be up against it with Hilton College, unbeaten this year.
The final was nail-bitingly close, ending in a 4-4 draw and having to be decided by a penalty shoot-out.
The result was the perfect fairy-tale ending to a season of hard work by this team that turned around a (first match of the season) 2-10 crushing defeat by Hilton College to eventually win the competition and be crowned KZN Champions for 2017.
It was an amazing result for this team, with many players never having played waterpolo before and a testament to the top-notch coaching staff at Westville Boys’ High School.
