Josh bags another victory
The young athlete has continued to dominate in various sporting fields this year.
JOSH Steytler, a Grade 11 learner at Kearsney College, won a second aQuellé Mudman Junior Triathlon event for the 2019 series at Midmar Dam last weekend.
He won the Epworth event in early March and the Cordwalles event on 17 March.
In both events, he was the overall individual category winner as well as the 14 to 16 male age category winner.
The gruelling race comprised of a 375m swim, a 10km MTB ride that was followed by a 2.5km trail run. Josh said the event took place in beautiful, sunny conditions and he hoped for another top finish.

“After going a bit wide around the buoy in the swim, I knew I had to make up time on the cycle. Running out of transition, my cleats came off so I lost time getting my shoes on. I jumped on the bike to start the 10km mountain bike trail,” said an enthusiastic Josh.
He made up some good time on the bike but it all came down to his speed and endurance during the run. He literally hit the ground running, overtook his competitors on the hill and claimed first place overall and in the individual categories.
