Hillcrest claim second double win

Despite the inclement weather, the Land Rover Durban - Hillcrest Villagers' Rugby Club snapped up two deserved wins last Friday.

IT was another double win for the Land Rover Durban – Hillcrest Villagers’ Rugby Club as they took on PMB Collegians for the second round of the KZNRU First Division League encounter on Friday evening.

In the 2nd XV match, the home side dominated much of the game and the score read 57 – 0 as the final whistle blew.

Man of the Match went to Brent Volek (forwards) and Andries Botha (backline).

In the 1st XV encounter, the hugely adverse weather contributed to error-ridden performances from both sides.

Despite the Collegians’ never-say-die approach, the HVRC emerged victorious with a deserved 22 – 20 win.

Man of the Match went to Dan Mulder (backline) and Shaldon Lourens (forwards).

Turaco/Envirosan Villagers’ 3rd XV will begin its 4th Division KZNRU League season on Thursday evening against the Reservoir Hills Rhinos at the Durban Shongweni Club from 7.30pm.

The Villagers’ 1st and 2nd XV will face off against the Jaguars RC on Friday, 12 April with the match-night getting underway at 7pm at the Durban Shongweni Club
