St Mary’s hockey stars net SA team spots
The trio gave it their all at the recent African championships.
TWO past and one current St Mary’s DSG, Kloof learner recently played for team South Africa in the 2021 Indoor Hockey Africa Cup of Nations.
The team won against Botswana 26 – 0, beat Namibia 2 – 1 and claimed another win in their second game against Botswana with a score of 18 – 0. They narrowly missed out on a win against Namibia in the finals.

The school congratulated its matric learner, Daniella De Oliveira, Old Girl, Tegan Fourie (2016) and Old Girl and current primary school sports teacher, Kelly Reed (nee Madsen, 2007).
“Their outstanding success can be attributed to a combination of all their hard work, of a great hockey culture at St Mary’s and the fact that as a school we encourage the love of sport to carry on way beyond school and become part of their lifestyle. We are so very proud of them,” said the head of sports at St Mary’s DSG, Kloof, Jan Nicklin.
