Be thrilled at book launch

Make your way down to Adams at Musgrave Mall to take part in the launch of Marguerite Poland's latest book, The Keeper.

IF you are a book worm and enjoy getting stuck into a great South African novel, join in at the launch of Marguerite Poland’s latest novel, The Keeper. The exciting event will take place at Adams in Musgrave Mall from 5.30pm on Thursday 11 September.

The book is said to be written in the exquisite and haunting prose for which Marguerite is renowned (previous works, Recessional for Grace and Shades) and will be available for purchase on the day. The book follows lighthouse keeper Hannes Harker who is posted to a remote island with his young wife and discovers something long-hidden in the tower that causes him to lose his footing and fall. He is evacuated to hospital and nursed back to health by Sister Rika, to whom he haltingly tells the story of his life, from his mother’s mysterious death, to his wild wife and the desolate island they now call home.
