Three local acts set for Kloof
Head over to Tina's Hotel this weekend to catch Chloe Clark, The Retrobeats, Caleb Frow, Nico Badenhorst and Burton Naidoo.
CATCH a host of local talent who are set to rock Tina’s Hotel in Kloof on 7, 8 and 11 April.
Burton Naidoo, a Durban-born pianist, arranger and composer will feature on Friday, 7 April at 8pm. He is one of the country’s most promising and creative young pianists and is a talent of rare taste and distinction. Burton’s approach to the jazz idiom always borders on the adventurous and daring. Tickets are R100 each.
Catch local songstress Chloe Clark as she teams up with Caleb Frow and Nico Badenhorst on Saturday, 8 April at 8pm.
Chloe is a well known performer and has shared the stage with some of SA’s top jazz artists, as well as other South African favourites such as Arno Carstens and Gangs of ballet. She has sung backing vocals for Ronan Keating and has performed several times with the KwaZulu-Natal philharmonic orchestra. She will be cover a few favourites on the evening and will also showcase her EP, which she released last year.
Nico Badenhorst recently moved to Durban after touring with the Barnyard for several years. Nico started playing cello at the age of five and 12 years later he discovered his love for contemporary music and switched over to bass guitar. Nico then started playing professionally for various artists and played in the Barnyard theatres.
Caleb Frow is a young Durban musician who is currently studying jazz at UKZN and has completed a year of contemporary music studies at COPA. Caleb is currently performing as a drummer and back up vocalist with two Durban bands. A pop rock band, Dead Trends, and an acrobat ensemble, Zamalek.
Tickets for this show cost R100 per person.
The final show will be on Tuesday, 11 April and will be performed by the dynamic Thomas More Retrobeats from 7pm.
The group of young up and coming vocalists won the national a capella competition in Klerksdorp in 2014 and 2015 and sang backing for Arno Carstens at The Old Mutual Music at the Lake in 2016. Expect to hear a few delicious four part harmonies as well as a few arrangements from the popular Pentatonix. Tickets cost R100 each.
