Westville policing agencies work hand-in-hand

"People need to know that security companies and CPFs work together with police and we do share information, so they should not be wary if they see security companies and not the police," said Mchunu.

WITH statistics revealing that most crime take place on Fridays, Westville SAPS together with Metro police, CPFs and security companies held a convoy to show their visibility in the area last Friday.

Head of support services at Westville SAPS, Lt/Col Nicholas Mchunu, said Westville SAPS has created a partnership with all policing agencies in the area.

“We meet in the boardroom every Wednesday to discuss crime and draw up a plan to be ahead of the criminals and this Friday, we decided to go out into the community.

“People need to know that security companies and CPFs work together with police and we do share information, so they should not be wary if they see security companies and not the police,” said Mchunu.

Mchunu said, for their next convoy they would invite the neighbourhood watches, so it will be bigger.
