WESTVILLE learner, Catherine Jean Young was selected for the KZN U16 women’s cricket squad.
Catherine is a multi-talented Grade 9 learner and has represented the province for the past two years in softball. She was also in the final KZN selection for water polo and football.

The excited Westville Girls’ learner, whose dream is to play international cricket, said when she puts her mind to something, she works hard and with determination to achieve it.
“It also a bonus that I have a good support structure,” she said.
The 15-year-old advised other youngsters to always give their best to achieve their goals.
Her batting coach, Lyndon Brown said he was proud of Catherine and confirmed that she is a strong batter and wicket keeper.
