Madiga to speak for Norkem Park SAPS

Sgt Johanna Madiga’s priority is a safer community.

Norkem Park SAPS welcomed Sgt Johanna Madiga as its new spokesperson during Women’s Month.

Capt Lesibana Molokomme was the station’s spokesperson for years, and although he is still in the force, he handed over the communications reins to Madiga.

Madiga started serving at Norkem Park Police Station in 2008 but her policing career started in 2001.

“I started working in Benoni in the crime prevention unit for three years and was recruited to Welbekend Police Station where I worked as a social crime coordinator for two years before moving to Norkem Park, where I started as a sector manager,” said Madiga.

Madiga also has other tasks apart from communication, which include coordinating social crime prevention, the youth desk and CPF.

“I also work with mobilising the community and aiming for safer schools. My job is also made easier because I work with sector managers who are hands-on and I just coordinate,” explained Madiga.

“My goal is to see members of the community being safer and for them to be free in their neighbourhood. Safety is our priority.”
