All hostels are hot spots, six arrested in Tembisa overnight

Residents can expect a high police presence

All hostels in Ekurhuleni have been identified as hot spots following the senseless looting and criminal activities of the past few days.

Law enforcers will direct their energies to areas such as Katlehong, Tembisa, Vosloorus and Actonville where residents will experience heavy police presence, working together with Izindunas (hostel leaders) to restore order.

Gauteng Premier David Makhura, together with the provincial police commissioner, Lt-General Elias Mawela, will on Thursday, September 5, brief the media on the violence and looting of shops in the province.

The briefing will take place at 1pm at the Ekurhuleni Council Chambers in Germiston.

The briefing will give an update on the efforts by the government to restore peace and stability in all areas affected by the violent protests throughout the province.
