PEP mini netball gives schools a shot at winning R200K court makeover

In partnership with netball legend Dumisani Chauke, PEP’s ‘Dumi’s Choice’ competition invites schools to submit entries for a chance to win a professionally upgraded netball court and training equipment.

As part of its commitment to uplifting communities and empowering young girls, PEP, through its mini netball programme, has partnered with netball legend Dumisani Chauke to give one lucky school the chance to win a new netball court worth R200 000.

Chauke, a former Proteas assistant coach and passionate youth mentor, shared her excitement about the initiative.

The PEP mini netball programme is close to Chauke’s heart and has grown to include 40 festivals across all nine of South Africa’s provinces.

“Thanks to PEP, these festivals are not just tournaments teaching the fundamentals of netball but are designed to uplift communities and create real spaces where girls can thrive,” Chauke said.

The netball court makeover prize will include resurfacing, line marking, and structural repairs, along with coaching tools for the coach, such as bibs and balls.

The competition ‘Dumi’s Choice’, powered by PEP, is now open, and schools already participating in the programme are encouraged to enter.

Schools must send a short motivation with photos of their current netball court in need of a makeover to PEPminiNetball@gmail.com.

Teachers should post a photo of their netball team on Instagram using #PEPminiNetball, tagging @dumi6871 and @pep_southafrica, and share their favourite moment from a PEP mini netball festival or coaching session.

Entries are open and close on August 31, with the winning school announced by September 10.

The prize includes resurfacing, line marking and structural repairs of the netball court, as well as coaching tools such as bibs and balls for the team.

PEP shared its pride in partnering with Chauke to make a real difference in developing the sport of mini netball while providing young players with safe, high-quality spaces they need to grow their skills and confidence.
