Rugby glory for Laerskool Kruinsig as they clinch 2025 Valke North title

With grit and teamwork, Kruinsig capped off a standout rugby season by taking top honours in the Valke North Super League, including multiple league wins and Valke selections.

Laerskool Kruinsig has wrapped up its rugby season on a high, finishing as the overall winners of the 2025 Valke North Super League for primary schools.

From the first whistle at their rugby clinic in March to the final game of the season, Kruinsig’s rugby teams displayed character and class, not only in their play on the field but also in their conduct off the field.

The season’s success was built on a foundation of commitment from the players, coaches, teachers and parents, who all supported the teams with pride and sportsmanship.

Faan du Preez, the school’s rugby organiser, shared in his message, “Form is temporary, class is permanent.”

Head of sport, Tommie Visser, echoed this sentiment, adding, “At Laerskool Kruinsig, we do not only lead the community with our words but also with our actions.”

The school’s teams produced strong results across the age groups, with the U9 A and U9 B teams winning their respective leagues.
The U10 A team finished sixth in their league, while the U10 B team placed fifth.

The U11 A team claimed third place in their league, with the U11 B team finishing as runners-up.

The third team and second team each secured second place in their leagues, while the first team also ended their season as runners-up.

Adding to the season’s highlights, ten Kruinsig players were selected to represent the Valke U13 and U12 teams.

Selected for the Valke U13 team were Nathan de Beer, Keagen van der Nest, Keegan Smit and Juan du Toit, while the Valke U12 team included Nathan van Biljon, Tristan Dippenaar, Stefan Loubser, Lijah Lewandowsky, Morne Stander and Alexander du Preez.

The season began with Kruinsig’s annual rugby clinic, which set the tone for the months ahead, helping to build team spirit and refine skills ahead of the competitive fixtures.

Laerskool Kruinsig thanked all its players for their dedication and hard work, as well as the coaches, staff and parents who played a vital role in making the 2025 rugby season a memorable and successful one.
