Police on the lookout for a fraudster

A suspect is wanted for using a Kagiso resident's personal details to commit fraud in Randburg.

The Kagiso police are appealing to the members of the community to assist them with the arrest of a suspect who is wanted for fraud.

The suspect in the picture is wanted for committing fraud in a well-known furniture store in Randburg using the personal details of a Kagiso resident.

The complainant received a letter from a company acting on behalf of the furniture shop in February to collect the outstanding debt made to the shop.

The letter stated that the complainant owed Price and Pride R5 019, which had to be paid before the end of the month.

On arrival at the furniture store, the complainant was shown a signed and approved loan document that did not belong to her.

“The complainant alleged that she noticed the photo on the ID copy was not hers and had never applied for personal cash loan at Price and Pride,” says Solomon Sibiya, spokesperson for the Kagiso SAPS.

The complainant then opened a case of fraud against the suspect at the Kagiso police station.

Anyone with information of the suspect’s whereabouts that may lead to their arrest should contact the investigating officer or detective working on the case.

Or leave an anonymous tip-off with Warrant Officer Guda on 078 106 9864 and Detective Constable Maditse on 072 133 8462.
