An 18-year-old suspect was taken into police custody on 9 June after he was found with stolen goods in his possession.
The suspect was arrested at Dr Masibilanga in Kagiso for an alleged robbery.
The police official on duty received information from a colleague about the whereabouts of the missing goods that had been spotted at Masibilanga section earlier the day.
“Officers responded to the given address and on arrival found a woman who identified herself and her 18-year-old son,” says Kagiso SAPS spokesman, Solomon Sibiya.
The 18-year-old suspect was then busted with two Dixion speakers (hybrids loud speaker and a Tedelex mixer) in his possession.
“The suspect told the police that he actually stole the property from a vehicle.”
Both the mother and the suspect were immediately arrested and detained at the Kagiso police station.
The mother of the 18-year-old suspect was later released.
A case docket for robbery was opened at Kagiso SAPS against the suspect who will soon appear in Kagiso Magistrates’ Court.
