
Kagiso police arrested a 33-year-old suspect at Extension 12 in Kagiso after a complaint of a stolen motorcycle was lodged by an anonymous caller.
Police received a complaint on 10 June about a stolen motorcycle.
They then proceeded to the give address where they came across the suspect pretending to be a mechanic.
He further told the police that the motorbike belonged to one of his client who brought it in for repairs.
“The suspect’s attitude and response of not knowing the suspect’s contact and residential details left the police no option but to arrest him,” says Kagiso SAPS spokesperson, Solomon Sibiya.
The police later found that the motorcycle was actually a red Yamaha reported stolen in Krugersdorp the previous weekend.
The suspect was immediately arrested and later detained at Kagiso police station where a case docket of possession of stolen motorbike was opened.
He appeared in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court on 12 June.
