Kagiso SAPS arrested two suspects for theft in Chamdor on 25 June.
The two suspects aged between 30 and 34 years were arrested in the early afternoon for pinching steel.
Allegedly, while patrolling the area, a police officer came across three suspects with steel pipes in their possession.
Two of the three suspects were carrying the steel pipes while the other suspect was pushing a wheelbarrow loaded with similar steel merchandise. One of the three suspects managed to escape as police cornered the other two.
“The suspect who was in possession of the stolen steel pipes fled the scene, but two of his accomplices were cornered and eventually apprehended,” says Kagiso SAPS spokesperson, Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya.
The two suspects later were detained at the Kagiso Police Station where a case docket of theft was opened.
They appeared in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court on 26 June on for theft.
