Three drug houses in Krugersdorp’s drug capital were evicted after a visit by the Gauteng MEC of Safety Nonhlanhla Mazubuko to Kagiso.
The visit by the MEC follows the many complaints that had been received about the Nyaope crises in both the Krugersdorp and Kagiso areas.
This saw the cluster commander of the SAPS Brigadier Rampota deciding to take action against the drug epidemic within the greater suburbs of Krugersdorp, launching a drug unit consisting of the seven different stations in the greater Krugersdorp and Randfontein area.
Leading the specialised drug unit is Detective Commander, Colonel Enslin from Krugersdorp.
“Drugs is an increasing problem,” says Colonel Enslin.
In this last month the drug unit has managed to evict many drugs dealers from their houses in Krugersdorp that serves as an eye sore in the community. The unit evicted the illegal drug dealers from the Richman court flats in Sivewright Street in Krugersdorp.
Police successfully evicted the illegal occupants out of the flats with the help and cooperation of the owner.
This building is just one of the many buildings in Krugersdorp that was hi-jacked from the owners by Nigerian drug lords.
These occupants usually move into a building or house and then fail to pay rent or simply refuse to move out of the premises.
Even when the owners take steps such as turning off the electricity supply, these occupants would take measures as reconnecting the electricity illegally or simply live without it.
In the meantime the owner of the building had decided to turn the flats into a storage facility that he rents out to private clients.
The owner fears that if he rents out the property again, he may suffer losing his building to the claws of the illegal occupants again that resides in the streets.
