A 30-year-old suspect was arrested for housebreaking and theft on 13 July.
It is alleged that on 7 July at about 7pm the complainant received a call from his cousin’s son telling him of a break-in at his residence.
Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya says that the complainant arrived at his home the next day where he noticed that his Omega DVD and amplifier, Sony amplifier, speakers, grinder, drill machine, CDs and a leather jacket all valued at more than R9 000 were stolen.
“On 9 July at about 8am the complainant got information about his property’s whereabouts. He then reported the matter to the police who responded swiftly and arrested the suspect.”
Sibiya says that the suspect is being detained at the Kagiso Police Station and the police are searching for a third suspect. “The first suspect was arrested immediately after the incident was reported to the police.”
A case docket of housebreaking and theft was re-opened at the Kagiso Police Station following the arrest of the second suspect, who have appeared in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court.
