
Kagiso police arrested two suspects aged 31 and 35 on 6 August at about 11pm after a woman (37) was shot and killed at Mayibuye Section in Swanieville.
The sector police were performing crime-prevention duties in the area at about 8pm when they received a complaint of a shooting incident at Mayibuye.
Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, Kagiso police spokesperson says that the sector police members responded to the information and they proceeded to the given address. Upon arrival they found the dead body of a woman lying on the ground between two houses.
“Upon inspection, the police noticed that the deceased had been shot below her left eye. The paramedics were called and upon arrival they certified the woman dead on the scene.”
He says a few minutes later the police received information from witnesses about the suspects’ whereabouts.
“Following up on the information led to the swift arrest and detention of two suspects.”
A case docket of murder has been opened at the Kagiso Police Station. The two suspects appeared in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court on 7 August.
