Tsogo Sun and MasterChef delight casino winners

Arguably one of the world’s favourite pastimes is to share the experience of great food in good company.

Since 11 June, South Africans have been glued to their TV screens as they’ve lived all the action, blood, sweat and tears of the second season of MasterChef SA.

In celebration of their sponsorship of this popular reality TV competition, Tsogo Sun gave visitors to their three Gauteng entertainment destinations – Montecasino, Silverstar and Gold Reef City – the opportunity to win the unique experience of dining with Tsogo Sun’s celebrity chef and MasterChef SA judge Benny Masekwameng for a meal prepared by MasterChef Season 1 winner Deena Naidoo at his restaurant, Aarya at Montecasino.

On Thursday 1 August Sally Jansen, Roman Konig, Hannetjie Schenck, Melvin Chetty and their partners were treated to Benny’s inimitable charm and humour as he recalled stories from MasterChef SA, while Deena reminded the winners why South Africa fell in love with him during MasterChef SA Season 1.

The guests were enthralled with tastes of Aarya as Deena prepared and served unique dishes off a family style menu designed by himself for the evening.

“As the show continues to unfold, there is no question in our minds that the partnership between Tsogo Sun and M-Net is a complimentary fit that has brought many hours of enjoyment to South African food lovers,” says Rob Collins, Tsogo Sun’s Chief Marketing Officer.

“In the midst of the tough competition, as heat rises and anticipation mounts during each episode of the show, this competition has been an opportunity for the public to get involved and enrich their experience of the show.”

MasterChef SA Season 1 ended on a high with Deena Naidoo winning a restaurant at Montecasino, courtesy of Tsogo Sun’s partnership with M-Net.

In MasterChef Season 2 viewers are seeing a stronger presence by Tsogo Sun, whose new partnership includes sponsorship of accommodation and one of the main prizes, five nights at the group’s ultimate luxurious property, Maia Luxury Resort & Spa in the Seychelles, valued at R170 000.
