Neighbour facing charges of attempted murder
A 22-year-old man was arrested after he broke into his neighbour's house and stabbed a girl.

A 22-year-old suspect from Rietvallei was arrested by Kagiso police this morning 8 October for attempted murder.
The suspect was tracked down in Meadowlands Extension 10 in Soweto at about 9am, almost 20km from the crime scene.
Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, a police spokesperson says when the police arrived at the scene they found a 17-year-old girl lying on the floor and bleeding.
He says she sustained a stab wound to her neck but was able to identify the suspect as her neighbour.
“The suspect allegedly gained entrance by breaking the bedroom window. The girl was in another bedroom when she heard someone breaking in.”
Sibiya says a struggle ensued between the suspect and the girl.
“He then stabbed the girl in the neck, after which he fled the scene. A pair of scissors with blood stains was found on the scene as well as a cash amount of R40.”
The girl was rushed to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A tip-off on the suspect’s whereabouts was received and the police followed up.
“He was traced and arrested in Soweto and is being detained at the Kagiso police station. He will appear in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court soon facing charges of housebreaking and attempted murder,” says Sibiya.
