Two men are wanted by the Kagiso Police after they received information from an anonymous source about a murder at the Soul City informal settlement on Sunday 13 October.
Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, a police spokesperson says the sector police found the body of Major Lekhanya (28) early in the morning.
“The police found blood-stained stones next to the deceased’s body. He sustained serious head injuries and was bleeding profusely. Next to the deceased’s body was another man who also had been stabbed and stoned.”
He says that paramedics certified Lekhanya dead on the scene and his accomplice, Tieho Hlotse (24) was taken to the local hospital in a serious condition with head injuries and an open wound to the left side of his abdomen.
“The motive for the attack is still unknown but the police have launched a manhunt for the suspects.”
He says that the police are appealing to anyone who knows the suspects and their whereabouts to call the Kagiso detectives immediately on 011 696 9102 or on 011 696 9068 as the suspects are considered to be very dangerous.
