Computer donation changes lives

Sanlam has served the community of Krugersdorp by donating food parcels and accommodating other needs at local schools.

Through its corporate social investment (CSI) platform, Sanlam recently donated five computers to Diphalane Primary School in Munsieville.

According to Financial Advisor at Sanlam in Rustenburg, Sello Tshukudu, the donation forms part of the company’s on-going social investment in education as it helps to address the severe skills shortages in the country.

Sello, a Munsieville resident himself noticed a need for computers to do admin tasks at the local primary school.

“Sanlam, known for ploughing back into the community, quickly jumped on board after I discussed the school’s challenges with them,” he says.

The handover on Friday 29 November turned out to be the grand finale of a prestigious event during which Sanlam also awarded top achievers for their excellence and hard work in various subjects.

Sello says that up to date Diphalane Primary could not accommodate pupils interested in Information Technology (IT) or other computer-related subjects, but they will be able to do so in future as more computers will be donated.

Sanlam has served the community of Krugersdorp by donating lunch tins and accommodating other needs at local schools. According to Sello more projects are lined up for the area.
