Ballerinas awarded for their excellence
Coming out on top, the winner of the Junion section was Somari Ryan and the Senior section was won by Cherise Loupos.
On 14 November Dance Inc held their annual prize giving at Laerskool Millennium.
Each child, even the two-year-old tots, had a chance to perform.
All were awarded certificates, and trophies and cups also were handed out.
There was also a final of the Choreographic Competition where dancers had the opportunity to create a dance of their own with a costume and music of their choice. “South Africa has produced many excellent dance choreographers so I enjoy letting my girls learn to imagine and create within guidelines but without boundaries.
“Our adjudicators Ilse Basson and Trish Viera selected their winners,” says owner of the school Carla Turner.
Coming out on top, the winner of the Junion section was Somari Ryan and the Senior section was won by Cherise Loupos. The girls each received a tiara and an MP3 player.
The most promising dancer of 2013 was Liza O’Brien.
On Saturday 1 February budding ballerinas can enjoy a free class at Dance Inc. Send an email for an enrolment form for 2014 to Carla at carjhb@gmail.com or visit the website www.danceinc.co.za.
