Krugersdorp author publishes first of thought-provoking trilogy
The book is based on a character who battles with multiple personality disorder.
Krugersdorp North resident Andrew Hall decided to try his hand at writing after retiring recently and his first book, which forms part of a trilogy, makes for an interesting read.
Before taking up the title of author, Andrew retired from his job as psychotherapist, but he does not hesitate to mention that he took up various occupations before that but it did not quite work out for him.
Experience he gained by working in industries such as human resource management, industrial engineering, getting his hands dirty as a safety officer on drill rigs or working as an electrician, according to Andrew, also gave him some good insight into the way people operate, work and think.
That served him well when he sketched characters for his first book, and will again when he writes the other two.
His creativity, says Andrew, does not allow him to be an ordinary retired citizen. After playing and teaching music most of his life, he decided to explores the art of writing – something he always has been passionate about.
He emphasises that his wife supported him throughout and that her constant motivation enabled him to complete his first 213-page book.
The book titled The Crimson Thistle is based on the life and doings of a character named Benjamin.
In his formative years Benjamin experiences death in the family and as a pre-teen becomes the victim of sexual trauma, as a result of which he develops multiple personality disorder.
In the early sixties his family relocates to South Africa. What follows is a psychological thriller across a time span of three decades.
Since its launch online and in hard copy at the beginning of the year the book has stirred a lot of interest and those who have managed to get their hands on a copy eagerly awaits the follow-up, which will be titled Blood of the Thistle.
