The Bacon & Egg Toastmasters recently had their 65th meeting with computers as the main theme.
Several guests, which includes many from Krugersdorp, attended the event at the Meat & Eat restaurant in Horizon View, some confirming that they would be joining the club. The club focuses on helping its members improve their communication and public speaking skills.
For this meeting Glen Campbell was appointed the Toastmaster. Nicole Do Espirito presented the Loyal Toast with Treasurer Kevin Marsden giving the Toast of the Morning with a very interesting talk on the history of computers.
Krugersdorp resident Ria Hughes won the Speech of the Day with her impromptu speech called A Life Sentence. Table Topics and Best Evaluator was won by Elaine O’Gorman and Viv Roney respectively.
Campbell says that the Toastmasters Club not only encourages public speaking but its also helps members to acquire good leadership skills.
“We at Bacon & Eggs thoroughly enjoy our meetings for the great company and good humour. We will start a Humorous and Impromptu Contest soon, which is something to look forward to!” she concludes.
