A day in a sex worker’s high heels

In a letter written to the News, a local sex worker states that the sight of a man makes her sick to her stomach.

A ‘lady of the night’ wrote a letter to the news in which she described what it is like being a sex worker, and the challenges they face on the streets in their high heels on a daily basis.

In the letter she told the news about the toll the bleak economy has taken on them and how she has to ‘service’ more clients to be able to pay her drug debt to her foreign pimp.

Sex workers now have to work twice as hard to buy enough of the drugs they need so desperately.

The words on the page describe the pain caused by the withdrawal symptoms she faces as she is addicted to ‘Tie’, better known as heroin.

Every morning she anxiously awaits the arrival of her pimp at the flat where she is staying, to let her out of the room so that she can take a bath and more importantly get her fix.

When he finally arrives at the flat in Sivewright Street they are allowed to get ready for the long night ahead.

“He better give me enough drugs to help me through the night,” she wrote.

The news was informed that the sex workers not only work the streets but often are taken to various strip clubs to earn extra money.

A reliable source known as Mr Luckycharm told the news how the pimps go as far as advertising the sex workers’ services on Gumtree to increase business.

“I am so tired of having sex. I feel sick to my stomach when I see a man. The things I have to endure; things he would never dare do to his own wife. I better take enough drugs to cope with this,” she said in the letter.

After long hours working the streets and clubs the sex workers will retire to the flat at 3am where they again need a fix to help them sleep it off.

“I better not hassle him too much or else he will hit me again.”

But the message in the letter is loud and clear – an exhausted and desperate sex worker is crying for help.

“No one wants to help me. God, how did I end up here? I was stupid and I have made a big mistake.”
