Women are like roses

The South African Riding for the Disabled Association's (Sarda) Gauteng branch had a successful ladies brunch at Usambara to raise funds.

It was an opportunity not just to raise funds but to get several women to spend a morning together.

This past Saturday 24 January, the South African Riding for the Disabled Association’s (Sarda) Gauteng branch situated in Peter Road, Ruimsig had a delicious three course ladies brunch at Usambara in Muldersdrift to raise funds.

Petra Lewis, Sarda Gauteng’s spokesperson, said it is important for women to have some time off by doing the things that matters to them most.

She further said every woman is unique and special in their own special way.

“Women are like a rose garden: we are all so different and blossom at different times. When we blossom we are all also different colours.”

Petra said, just like roses, women needs to be watered and pruned correctly so that they can bloom at their best.

As a further motivation she emphasised the fact that women are beautiful individuals who need to reach their full potential during the year.

“In order for this to happen you need to take care of yourself and be yourself.”

In between the starters and the main course several female speakers also were given the opportunity to speak about stress management, women’s financial wellness and caring for yourself and your community.

To add a bit of fun there were several lucky draws and raffle ticket prizes to be won.

By dessert it was clear that the women enjoyed their morning with great company and delicious food, realising how much potential they have to achieve great things.
