Maragon pupil awarded for work at charity
A local matric pupil picks up an award for helping Krugersdorp's needy.
It is not every day a local pupil is awarded as the Lead SA Hero for helping a Krugersdorp charity organisation.
Karli Coetzee, a 17-year-old matric pupil from Maragon Private Schools Avianto, was named the Lead SA Hero for January 2015 for her work at Mug and Tree Community Care.

Karli had no idea she was nominated for the award by her aunt and only found out when the Lead SA team contacted her mother to inform her that Karli was a finalist.
After Karli heard about the eviction of Mug and Tree from their previous property, she decided to start a facebook group called Hand from Heaven.
Through the page friends and family helped her to raise funds to find Mug and Tree a new premises. Seeing that Karli’s mother works as a real estate agent, her mother’s contacts helped the process along.
Donations such as bags of cement, building materials and everything in between helped Mug and Tree with the infrastructure of their beautiful facility, which now is located at the corner of Naudé Avenue and Fisher Street in Krugersdorp West.
Lead SA representatives along with their camera crew met up with the charity star at Mug and Tree on 10 February to hand over the award.
