No EFC at the cinema tomorrow
“We knew there could be challenges with EFC broadcasts on Saturdays, but we're working to resolve this.” — EFC president Cairo Howarth.
For all those Extreme Fighting junkies out there, Ster-Kinekor at Cradlestone Mall in Muldersdrift will not broadcast the live EFC 37 event at their cinemas tomorrow 21 February.
Instead the full live event can be watched live via online streaming.
“We knew there could be challenges with EFC broadcasts on Saturdays, but we’re working to resolve this,” stated EFC president Cairo Howarth.
“We have just had confirmation from Ster-Kinekor that there is a scheduling conflict this Saturday and so won’t be broadcasting EFC 37. We are confident that EFC will be back live in cinemas for the next event.”
Doug Place, Marketing Executive of Ster-Kinekor Theatres, explains: “Saturday evenings are the busiest trading night for our cinemas and accommodating the longer format EFC program does present some scheduling conflicts we have with our feature film lineup. However, we are currently pursuing a few alternatives to accommodate future EFC events that are staged on a Saturday night.”
Great news is that all 12 of the bouts on EFC 37 this Saturday will still be broadcast online, so if you want to watch the undercard, including the historic first female fight, plus heavyweight Ricky Misholas take on Frenchman Cyril Asker, they are available in HD live streaming via www.efcworldwide.tv.
