Their doors are closed for good
Empty kennels, locked gates and closed windows at the former SPCA branch of Krugersdorp situated in Delporton.
They said they were going to do it, and they did it. The Krugersdorp SPCA closed their doors for good.
The News recently paid a visit to the now abandoned lot in Lotz Street in Delporton that once housed thousands of four-legged animals.
Silent echos of animals moaning once filled the air in Delporton where unwanted and rescued animals lived before they were moved to other SPCA branches.
The once busy street now feels like a ghostly road with only trucks passing through every few hours.
After the SPCA blamed the community of Krugersdorp for their lack of financial support the community tried in all their might to save the branch, but to no avail.
Community members and businesses decided to put their heads and hearts together in an attempt to help the unwanted animals at the shelter find a new home, but this initiative was also rejected by the SPCA.
The News noticed that the SPCA branding boards are still on the property along with curtains hanging in the windows and what looks like stock of some sort left inside.
The News will be keeping an eye on the property to see who will next make this place their home.
