Two injured in N14 crash
Paramedics found a light motor vehicle on the left side of the highway while the second vehicle was found on the middle island.
Two men were injured after two vehicles collided on the N14-highway close to Malibongwe and Beyers Naudé Drive in Nooitgedacht, Krugersdorp.
Russel Meiring, an ER24 spokesperson said paramedics arrived on the scene last night 14 April and found a light motor vehicle lying on the left side of the highway while the second vehicle was found on the middle island.
Both vehicles sustained serious damage.
He said on assessment, paramedics found one of the drivers in a critical condition while a second patient was walking around on the scene with minor injuries.
“Paramedics had carefully removed the critically injured patient from the vehicle and provided him with advanced life support. As soon as he was in a stable condition, he was transported to the Life Fourways Hospital for urgent medical treatment,” Russel said.
The second patient was treated for his minor injuries and thereafter transported to Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital for further observation.
“It is understood that the one vehicle rear-ended the other, causing the collision.”
Local authorities will investigate the cause of the collision.
