Children injured in two taxi collision

The two taxis were found in the middle of the road.

Four people were injured this afternoon, two of them children, when two taxis collided on Kagiso Drive in Kagiso.

Russel Meiring, an ER24 spokesperson said when paramedics arrived on scene, they found both taxis in the middle of the intersection and a large number of children were found walking around on the scene.

“It was discovered that one taxi had been carrying a number of children from school.”

On assessment, paramedics found that two children, aged four and six, as well as two adults had sustained minor injuries in the collision.

Fortunately no-one had sustained any serious injuries.

Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries on scene and thereafter transported them to Leratong Hospital for further observations.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
