Read the initial report here.

An ER24 ambulance barricaded the scene where the 30-something man was found dead in his Land Rover in the parking lot of the Shell garage.

The family is highly upset about the rumours on social media platforms such as Facebook, insinuating he passed away owing to alcohol or illegal-substance abuse.

The News spoke to the deceased’s widow and a close family friend who set the record straight.

None of the theories are true as the family friend confirmed; the deceased was an epilepsy sufferer with high blood pressure. A postmortem will be performed to confirm his death by natural causes.

According to the widow his health took a turn for the worse over the past few weeks and he did not feel well on the Sunday afternoon before his untimely death.

The family is traumatised by the incident and the children of the deceased are not taking the news very well.

They asked that all rumours be laid to rest and request privacy to mourn the passing of a father, life partner and loved one.

Funeral arrangements have not been finalised yet.
