Tremor hits West Rand

The Earth shook, but we were all too fast asleep too even care.

According to the Council for Geoscience, the West Rand experienced a 3,7 magnitude tremor early this morning.

The epicentre of the tremor was recorded in Fochville around 1.30am.

A few people actually felt the earth move (a little) while the rest continued snoozing, blissfully unaware of things gently shaking around them.

News’ journalist Marizka Coetzer said she though she was dreaming and only realised earlier this afternoon that what she experienced was the aftermath of the tremor.

Gerhardt Niewoudt from Mogale City’s Emergency Management Services said no calls were logged about the tremor.
