Cattle caught in minor crash

Bystanders at an accident scene fussed about two head of cattle in the trailer.

Lunch time traffic on Paardekraal Road was delayed when two head of cattle were caught in a minor crash.

It is alleged the vehicle transporting the cattle was heading to town when a light motor vehicle drove into the side of the trailer at the Andries Pretorius Street and Paardekraal Drive intersection.

The driver of the vehicle transporting the cattle told the News he was from Hammanskraal and on his way to an auction in Krugersdorp when the accident took place.

He claimed the traffic light turned yellow when he crossed the intersection and the light motor vehicle with an elderly couple as occupants crashed into the right side of the trailer.

“I could not stop abruptly,” the driver said to the News.

Bystanders claimed that after the accident, the bull on the trailer started attacking the cow. The two had to be separated by a tow-truck driver who responded to the scene.

To calm them down the cattle were positioned to face in opposite directions.

“They probably are stressed from the crash,” the driver said after the News had asked him about the well-being of the cattle.

The News is happy to report that neither humans nor cattle were injured in this accident.
