Workshop held to honour Madiba’s legacy

About 30 volunteers from different organisations attended the workshop.

The Muldersdrift police station organised a trauma counselling workshop to honour the legacy that was left behind by former President Nelson Mandela.

South Africans will be celebrating the late President’s, what would have been his 97th, birthday on 18 July by giving back 67 minutes to the community as a reminder of the years he sacrificed to lead the country to its first democratic elections in 1994.

Warrant Officer Hitler Ngwenya, Muldersdrift police spokesperson said about 30 volunteers who work at Victim Empowerment and Non Governmental Organisations around the area participated in the workshop.

The two day workshop was facilitated by Dr Bafana Siboyana from the National Children and Violence Trust which was held at the Muldersdrift Community Ministries.

“We have held this workshop to not only honour the late Madiba but also to give back by empowering the community through education and knowledge.”
