A brand-new second-hand shop

The We Care Multi-Charity second-hand shop is now open to the public.

Krugersdorp residents now can visit a brand-new second-hand clothing charity shop.

The News received word that the closing of Hospice West Gauteng is final and the organisation has been liquidated.

Rentia van Zyl, no stranger in the charity world, has been associated with Hospice for the past few years, and since its closing has fought hard to keep the organisation going.

The Hospice charity shop is believed to have been auctioned off last week and the Hospice house is expected to be sold soon.

Rentia since has bought stock from the organisation and started a brand-new charity shop in Ockerse Street named We Care.

After many years in the charity business, Rentia simply could not give up. She decided to start the new shop, which will support three charities on the West Rand.

“We are a community that does not necessarily have money to donate to all the needy organisations, but everyone has a few unused items lying around at home. This is where the shop comes in,” Rentia explained.

The funds generated from selling the donated clothes and household items will be donated every month to one of the three organisations, which are the Westonaria, The Cradle of Hope in Krugersdorp West and Itumaleng Orphanage in Muldersdrift.

The shop works on the easy-sticker system. Residents are invited to come search for treasures of good quality at a good price.

Trading hours are 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday and 9am to noon on a Saturday.

The slogan of the new shop is, We care, do you?
