Get business skills at course

100 entrepreneurs will be selected countrywide to participate in this fully-funded BankSeta programme, of which 20 delegates will be selected for Cape Town.

The second annual Programme in Entrepreneurship Skills (Pes) is taking place at the Real Life Church in Krugersdorp North from 30 July and small business owners are invited to apply.

The aim of the Pes is to assist existing small business owners to acquire the necessary management skills to operate profitable business operations.

Topics to be covered include entrepreneurial ideas and opportunities, management skills, financial skills, marketing skills and how to draw up a budget.

The programme consists of 12 training days to be presented over a period of four months (one day per week) as well as on-site mentorship for a period of six months to successful candidates.

It is presented on an NQF level 5 (one notch higher than Grade 12) and is SAQA/ university accredited. Successful participants will receive University Certificates of Achievement as issued by the North-West University Business School.

Successful applicants will thus receive a BankSeta scholarship and will be able to participate in this programme at no extra cost.

You must be the following:

• A South African citizen

• A full-time entrepreneur (or a staff member of the entrepreneur and in a management position)

• Able to attend all 12 full lecture days

• Must have a bank account and Internet facilities

• Have acceptable numeric skills, which are important

• Have basic computer literacy

• Fluent in English (reading, writing and speaking)
