Mrs SA finalist to make a difference
Mrs South Africa finalist held a charity gala event in aid of Cansa.
Former Jan de Klerk High School pupil is changing the world, one gala event at a time.
Mrs South Africa finalist, Nokuthula Thanda, recently rolled out the red carpet at the Empolweni Guest Lodge in Midrand for the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa), and Jan de Klerk High School alumnus, Charmaine Tereblanche supported her every step of the way.
The Mrs South Africa pageant, that Charmaine and Nonkuthula is part of, has always supported Cansa’s pageants and in 2013 raised over R300 000 for Cansa.

Mrs Gauteng First Princess Charmaine Tereblanche along with Mr South Africa, Armand du Plessis, and other celebrities like Elma Postma attended the event.
Charmaine is Krugersdorp’s own pageant princess, who matriculated at Jan de Klerk in 2006.
“I started developing a passion for helping the community as I grew older,” she told the News.
“I have been part of pageants ever since I was in Grade 2 in Laerskool Ebenhaeser. My motto in life is to always move forwards and onwards.”
Events like these aim to help those in need and help other educators and non-profit organisations like Cansa.

The Mrs South Africa group, also a big supporter of Saint Lauren’s Children’s Home in Roodepoort, gave Nonkuthula an opportunity to help cancer patients by hosting this event and according to Charmaine, it was very successful indeed.
Charmaine, passionate about her community, will continue to keep Jan de Klerk’s name high by supporting charities in Krugersdorp and be an inspiration for young girls to do the same.
